We are pleased to share with all of you the recognition we have received as a collaborating entity of Aldeas Infantiles SOS during the event held last Tuesday, February 25, at the emblematic Palau de Pedralbes in Barcelona.

The event was presided over by the Secretary for Childhood, Adolescence, and Youth, Teresa Llorens, along with the Vice President of SOS Children’s Villages Catalonia, Francesc Torralba, and the entity’s Head of Corporate Partnerships and CSR, Anna Gil. During the ceremony, the work of 81 entities and institutions was highlighted, all of which, like us, contribute to the well-being of the most vulnerable children and young people.

SOS Children’s Villages provides a home and a family to children who cannot live with their parents, ensuring they grow up in a safe environment filled with love and opportunities.

The Torres Family Foundation began its collaboration with SOS Children’s Villages in 2004, funding the construction of a foster home in the village of Sant Feliu de Codines.
In 2023, we carried out a renovation of the house’s kitchen and acquired a more efficient boiler, maintaining our commitment to this cause and contributing to improving the living conditions of the children and their caregivers.

From the Torres Family Foundation, we would like to thank SOS Children’s Villages for this recognition. At the same time, we encourage them to continue their admirable work, guided by their inspiring motto: “No child is born to grow up alone.”

Once again, the Familia Foundation has collaborated with Mans Unides Barcelona in their traditional annual solidarity dinner, held on February 11 at the Semproniana restaurant.

The renowned chef Ada Parellada oversaw transforming the products donated by sponsors into an exquisite tasting menu, paired with our Viña Sol and Coronas wines.

As is customary at this solidarity dinner, all the dishes were prepared using ingredients that, under other circumstances, would have been discarded. The Semproniana team, led by Ada Parellada, once again demonstrated their creativity and commitment by turning these products into true delights for both the eyes and the palate. Each dish not only stood out for its flavor but also for the powerful message it conveyed: raising awareness about food waste and showing that discarded ingredients can be transformed into genuine culinary masterpieces.

One of the most exciting moments of the evening was the charity auction, which added a touch of fun and enthusiasm to the night.

Thanks to the generosity of the 100 attendees, €3,500 was raised, along with an additional €750 from the auction of product lots, among which a magnum bottle of Gran Coronas stood out.

At the Familia Torres Foundation, we remain committed to collaborating with local organizations to reduce inequalities and support the most vulnerable groups.

The Familia Torres Foundation has made a financial donation of €10,000 to the Valencian Federation of Hotel and Restaurant Businesses (FEHV) to help hoteliers affected by the DANA on October 29.

Representatives of the Penedès family winery met last Tuesday, December 17, in Valencia, with the general secretary of the FEHV, Rafael Ferrando, and the financial director Carmen Lozano, to formalize the donation with the intention of serving to help rebuild the affected premises and reactivate the sector in general.

The FEHV, which has more than 1,500 associates in the province of Valencia, is channeling the aid received due to the DANA to allocate it exclusively to hoteliers in the affected areas regardless of whether they are members or not.

The Torres Family Foundation has also collaborated with the Association of Sommeliers and Oenologists of Valencia (ASEV) in a charity tasting and dinner held at the beginning of December in aid of the Mira’m Foundation, an association for autistic children in the Valencian Community, doubling the amount raised during the dinner. In 2025, it plans to carry out other actions to support the Valencian community.

Last Monday a charity tasting and dinner took place in Valencia organised by the Association of Sommeliers and Oenophiles of Valencia (ASEV) led by Mireia Torres.

For the tasting we had a full house, 50 people who enjoyed Vardon Kennett, Pazo Torre Penelas, Jean Leon Vinya Gigi, Marimar Mas Cavalls, Salmos and Jean Leon Le Heavre Magnum from 1998. Among the attendees were well-known sommeliers such as Paco (Bga Biosca and president of ASEV), Abi (Sommelier of Hotel Westin), Olena (Sommelier of Rest Perfumería/Palacio Balier, MYR Hotels Group) and Marilu (Sommelier Trainer), among others.

After the tasting, a charity dinner was held, the funds raised from which went to the Mira’m Foundation (Valencian Community Association of autistic children), focusing on supporting those affected by DANA. During the event, our wines and spirits were offered.

It is important to highlight that the Familia Torres Foundation has doubled the amount raised, which will undoubtedly be extremely beneficial for this group.

A night of many feelings on the surface, where the public needed to take distance from the recent events that had occurred.

Last Friday, November 22, the Familia Torres Foundation, in an exceptional collaboration with the Castellers de Vilafranca, held a casteller workshop followed by a charity wine tasting. This event was organized in support of the Autisme amb Futur entity.

The participants were amazed by the history and great tradition that the Castellers de Vilafranca promote worldwide. Led by members of this emblematic casteller group, the participants discovered the techniques and fundamental values that sustain this Catalan cultural practice, and put into practice what they had learned by forming a group.

Finally, the attendees were able to enjoy a tasting led by one of our winemakers, who shared his knowledge and passion for wine.

With this event, 500 euros were raised, a sum that will be generously doubled by Banco Mediolanum. Consequently, a total of 1,000 euros will be donated to the Autisme amb Futur organisation, making a significant contribution to its work.

Autisme amb Futur works actively for the inclusion and improvement of the quality of life of people with autism.

Next Friday, September 27, at 8:00 p.m., the historic Alfonso XIII nave will once again be the setting for a literary event. This time, it will be a poetry recital in which three authors will participate (Anna Tomàs, Stefano M. Cingolani and Xavier Zambrano), within the framework of the “La Vila en Vers” festival.

After working as a prescriptor through her literary blog and collaborating with various regional media or with El Matí Digital and reciting other people’s poems, Anna Tomás from Vilafranca has decided to make her own, as yet unpublished, poetic work known. Stefano M. Cingolani (Rome, 1956) will speak next. He has a PhD in Romance Philology from the University of La Sapienza and is the author of a dozen studies on medieval Catalan history and literature, including a biography of Peter the Great, the critical edition of Lo Somni by Bernat Metge and Sant Jordi, a millennial legend. Cingolani, who has been living in Vilafranca since 2021, is the author of the poetry collections Lo veo por la voz (2019) and Mendigo (2024). The evening will be closed by the translator and poet Xavier Zambrano, who was awarded the Josep Maria López Picó de Vallirana prize for his latest poetry collection Duró (2017).

At the end of the presentation, a glass of wine will be served and books by the authors will be available for purchase. We invite you to attend.

Last Friday, August 23, we attended the presentation of the book “Santa Maria de Vilafranca, el gran temple gòtic del Penedès” which took place in the Vinseum auditorium, where the authors themselves shared their experiences and experiences during the development of the project.

This work takes a historical tour of the Basilica of Santa Maria, from the laying of the first stone to the most recent restorations, revealing some details hitherto unknown. “Santa Maria de Vilafranca, el gran temple gòtic del Penedès” is a collective work by 21 people linked to Vilafranca, history and art.

The authors narrate the history of the temple and delve into the episodes experienced in it. The recent and important restoration works affecting the walls and the large roof of the building are described in detail. The collapse of the Gothic vault that the church suffered in 1753 has also been studied, which has allowed us to refute the fact that it was rebuilt one metre lower, and the most relevant archaeological findings are explained, such as the stonemason’s marks, signed tiles and games engraved in stone, among others.

The book also includes more than 200 photographs that allow us to appreciate the rich heritage of the temple up close, from the architectural structure to the most unique details, which make Santa María a temple of extraordinary beauty and harmony.

From the Familia Torres Foundation we have collaborated with this project, reaffirming our commitment to local culture and its benefits.

This is the first award that Mas Albornà has granted with the purpose of recognizing companies with the greatest social commitment.

This award distinguishes us as an organization committed to the people of the territory for over 45 years.

Mas Albornà Foundation has presented its first “COMPANY THAT CREATES OPPORTUNITIES” award to the Familia Torres winery, publicly acknowledging this wine company for its long history of collaboration, trust, and support for the foundation. According to Joan Clotet, the general director of the entity, “Having companies like Familia Torres makes us stronger today and gives us more strength to build together a territory that is more socially just and responsible.”

The award was collected by Mireia Torres, Director of Innovation and Knowledge of the winery and President of the Familia Torres Foundation, at a meeting that took place at the Waltraud winery in Pacs del Penedès. Mireia Torres highlighted that with Mas Albornà there has been “a continued collaboration of more than 45 years that has gone beyond the conventional customer-supplier relationship, becoming a closer, trust-based, and strategic partnership.”

The award was made in one of the occupational workshops of the Foundation in order to infuse the social DNA of the Foundation into every last detail and create a symbol that recognizes the commitment of the companies that, together with Mas Albornà, build a Penedès with more social commitment.

History of a successful relationship

The relationship between the Mas Albornà Foundation and Familia Torres began at Christmas in 1978 when they hired the Foundation’s handling services as extraordinary support for packing the bottles for Christmas batches. A measure that ended up becoming a recurring external support and, over the years, a leading story of collaboration and social commitment in the Penedès.

From the initial tasks of bottle packing, other continuous tasks in the handling area were undertaken (labeling, bottle cleaning, promotions, etc.) as well as in others, such as support for the restaurant’s kitchen or the awarded and recognized inclusive educational project “Viu la Vinya.”

This sustained relationship over time led to a very stable, firm customer-supplier relationship based on trust, to the point that the first contract for external services that took place in Catalonia was signed, a service that allows a professional team from the Special Employment Center to develop a productive activity on the premises of Familia Torres, under the supervision of a manager who acts as a link between the company and the foundation.

The relationship between Familia Torres and Mas Albornà has not only generated job opportunities for people with disabilities but has also contributed to effective social inclusion, with four workers who have become part of the Torres team on a permanent basis. In turn, the commitment of the Torres Family to inclusion has been a positive benchmark and a boost for social hiring in the territory.

Familia Torres has shown outstanding social sensitivity, trusting the capabilities of the Mas Albornà workers and continuously supporting the Foundation. Their integration as members of the board since 2006 reflects this deep commitment to the mission of the Mas Albornà Foundation, the territory, and its people.

This is, therefore, a success story defined by a close and sincere collaboration that, after 46 years, remains very much alive, representing that joint work to promote social and labor inclusion generates an impact.

Three hundred personalities attended the charity event La Bravíssima organized by the Eurofirms Foundation.

Last Friday, May 24th, the charity event La Bravíssima was held at the Hotel Sant Pere del Bosc (Lloret de Mar, Girona). The meeting, organized by the Eurofirms Foundation, gathered more than 300 personalities with the goal of promoting the labor inclusion of women with disabilities.

At the charity event, some personalities such as Marc Gasol, Ona Carbonell, Pilarín Bayés, Paula Fernandez Ochoa, Sister Lucía Caram, Sergi Grimau, and journalist Ruth Jimenez, among others, were in attendance.

Furthermore, Carme Ruscalleda, the only chef in the world with seven Michelin stars, was in charge of designing the gastronomic menu specially thought for this edition of La Bravíssima. Additionally, the dessert was conceived for the occasion by Patricia Schmidt and Christian Escribà, a renowned pastry chef who complemented the menu with a sweet touch. Our wines, Jean Leon 3055 Chardonnay and Jean Leon 3055 Rosé, were responsible for pairing the gastronomic proposal and were very successful among the attendees at the lunch.

During the celebration of La Bravíssima, funds were raised that will be allocated to finance the Eurofirms Foundation’s Inclusive Bootcamp training program: a 12-week web development training for women with disabilities, which will promote their leadership and incorporation into a significant sector such as ICT.

Familia Torres Foundation and the Eurofirms Foundation have collaborated for several years with the objective of enhancing the labor integration of people with disabilities and the creation of inclusive work environments in organizations.

The social entity ACTUA Coop is celebrating its III Charity March on Sunday, June 2nd under the slogan “Solidarity Steps, Shared Dreams”.

The march will start at 9 am in La Sardana square in Vilafranca del Penedès and from 11 am onwards, activities will commence in the same square.

Registration includes breakfast (a sausage or cheese sandwich), gifts, participation in the raffle of various prizes, and a series of recreational activities for children and adults.

Midway through the route, walkers will take a short break in the garden of the Visitor Center, where we will prepare a small refreshment with fruit, water, cookies for the children, and a tasting of our range of de-alcoholized Natureo wine.

Familia Torres Foundation has collaborated with ACTUA in recent years on its Espai Familiar project, providing extra psychological support to children temporarily living in the CRAE Toni Inglés.

Residential Educational Action Centers (CRAE) have a social function to provide care and educational attention to minors in a serious family situation that cannot be resolved within their family environment.
