Torres Hope Primary School
On the afternoon of May 12, 2008, a terrible earthquake measuring 8.0 on the Richter scale hit the Sichuan province of China. Apart from an estimated 60,000 people deemed to have lost their lives, schools, buildings and infrastructures were acutely affected throughout the area. During 2010, the Torres Family Foundation collaborated in the construction of a school "Torres Hope Primary School" in Sichuan with capacity for 400 primary students.
Vicente Ferrer Foundation
In 2006 and 2008, the Torres Family Foundation collaborated with the Vicente Ferrer Foundation in the construction of a school and a vocational training centre for over 100 women in the Kadiri region, in order to make it easier for the "dálits" (untouchables) communities to access quality education for their children from 6 to 16 years old.
The construction of school classrooms
In February of 2003 the Santa Ana Elementary School was inaugurated in the city of San Pablo. The Torres Family Foundation contributed financially to the construction of five classrooms in this institution that houses orphaned children.
Shanghai Baby Home
In 2017, we collaborated with the Shanghai Baby Home, a large support centre for medical care for children from orphanages in China. Those who require special medical care are sent from all over China to Shanghai to receive the best possible treatment. SHH obtains funds for operations and provides a home environment to meet the physical, emotional and developmental needs of children during their hospital stay.
With the Torres Family Foundation's contribution, operations were performed on 3 children.
