Cancer is the leading cause of death among men and the second among women and its incidence is still very high: it is estimated that during their lives, 1 out of every 2 men and 1 out of every 3 women becomes ill with cancer.

Our fundraising day to support La Marató de TV3 will be held on Saturday, December 1st, in the Alfonso Thirteenth room in Vilafranca del Penedès.

For this edition we will consolidate the coordinated activities during the morning and conclude the day with a popular lunch, various performances, raffles and other surprises.

We have the cause, the date, the place, the material, the activities, but we need the most important thing: the collaborators who want to participate as volunteers on the day of the event.

On the 12th, 13th and 14th of October the archaeological conferences were held in Font de la Canya (Avinyonet). A journey back in time that allowed about twenty collaborators and their families to learn about the birthplace of viticulture in the Penedès region.

Archaeological excavations have identified evidence related to the beginnings of vineyards and wine in the region dating back to the 7th century BC, and are associated with commercial exchanges with the Phoenician culture.

The collaborators had the opportunity to work together alongside the team of archaeologists and to document the pieces discovered.
The little ones enjoyed the activities organized for them, such as the puppet workshop, stories, painting, etc.

From the Torres Family Foundation we support the Arqueovitis team in its work and especially the project to recover the grape seeds giving evidence of the first clues of pressed grapes in our territory.

Last week Marimar and Cristina Torres had the opportunity to give six scholarships to students at the Roseland Charter School in Santa Monica, California.

Part of this school was destroyed by the wildfires suffered in California last October, which caused thousands of evacuations. Now, with the help of the Torres Family Foundation, an annex to the public school has been rbuilt and six students have been assisted so that they can finish their studies and graduate with options to go to University.

The Miguel Torres Foundation, continuing in the line of childhood aid, has this year collaborated with the Shanghai Baby Home Health Care Centre (China), financing two surgical operations for two girls, Huangmi and Wenmeng, both two years old and affected by serious genetic ear problems. Taking advantage of my promotional trip to Japan, I went over to Shanghai to visit the centre to see the altruistic work of doctors, nurses, caregivers and volunteers first hand, who help in the daily care of the children as well as in the maintenance and management of the centre.
