For the second consecutive year, the Familia Torres Foundation has actively supported the PortAventura Foundation’s Dreams Village solidarity initiative, which aims to bring moments of joy and hope to hospitalised children and their families. Thanks to the foundation’s donation, eight children from the traumatology departments of Vall d’Hebron and Sant Joan de Déu hospitals in Barcelona, as well as Niño Jesús Hospital in Madrid, enjoyed an unforgettable week at PortAventura in mid-May, accompanied by their families, before resuming medical treatments. 

In addition, a group of volunteers from the winery organized creative workshops, where families crafted candle holders, painted grape bunches, and made backpack pendants using cork stoppers and other materials. The event, held on May 20, was hosted by Mireia Torres, president of the Familia Torres Foundation, and Ramón Marsal, president of the PortAventura Foundation, in an atmosphere filled with joy and camaraderie.

“We are very proud to have been part, once again, of this wonderful project that is Dreams Village. We are deeply grateful to all our team members who contributed their time and enthusiasm. Initiatives like this reflect our values and help build a better world,” says Mireia Torres.

Over the past decade, the Familia Torres Foundation has donated more than three million euros to social projects, with a special focus on supporting children. In December 2024, the foundation contributed €10,000 to the Valencia Hospitality Business Federation (FEHV) to assist hoteliers affected by the DANA storm. 

Established in 1986 by Miguel Torres Carbó and Margarita Riera, the Familia Torres Foundation has participated in over 400 cooperation projects across 12 countries, in partnership with public and private organizations. For the past five years, the foundation has been led by Mireia Torres, fifth generation of the Torres family, who succeeded her mother, Waltraud Maczassek, now honorary president.

More than 250 social leaders join ‘La Bravísima’ to promote labor inclusion

Last Friday, May 9, the Eurofirms Foundation held the second edition of ‘La Bravísima,’ a charitable event that brought together more than 250 leaders and representatives from companies, social and cultural organizations at the iconic Hostal de La Gavina, located in S’Agaró. This year, the gala focused on the labor inclusion of women with disabilities, highlighting the fundamental role of companies in creating inclusive work environments.

The evening featured the participation of Mireia Torres, president of the Familia Torres Foundation, who reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to inclusion and equal opportunities. Additionally, prominent figures from the worlds of sports, music, and business, such as Marc Gasol, Ona Carbonell, and Luz Casal, joined the event, bringing visibility and support to a cause that seeks to transcend beyond the gathering. Their presence, along with that of business leaders, reinforced the collective commitment to a more inclusive society.

Guests enjoyed an exquisite menu accompanied by our wines Jean Leon 3055 Chardonnay, Jean Leon 3055 Rosé, and Estelado Rosé.

The proceeds from the event were allocated to the technological training programs of the TechAcademy initiative, which in 2024 trained 109 people (28% of whom were women) in areas such as web development and cybersecurity. With a labor inclusion rate of 75%, this program demonstrates its positive impact on the lives of participants, promoting their autonomy and professional development.

The Familia Torres Foundation and the Eurofirms Foundation have been collaborating for several years with the aim of enhancing the labor integration of people with disabilities and creating inclusive work environments within organizations.
