On 24 November, a very special edition of Torres DAY was held in Valencia at the premises of the Asindown Foundation, to mark the tenth anniversary of the collaboration between our company and our Valencia distributor, DIVINS. The Asindown Foundation is an organisation founded by families of children with Down syndrome, whose purpose is to welcome families and provide them with support and guidance throughout every stage of life, as well as to promote the associative movement under the mission of creating a more inclusive world.

The event, carefully organised, became a memorable day both for its commercial success and for its charitable dimension.

One of the highlights of the day was the presentation of a 3,000-euro donation to the Asindown Foundation. On behalf of our company, Mireia Torres handed the cheque over to Pilar Aguiló, who attended on behalf of the organisation, its board and its trustees. This donation reinforces Familia Torres’s commitment to the region, first demonstrated a year ago in the wake of the DANA floods. These gestures further strengthen our commitment to social responsibility and to supporting initiatives that contribute to the wellbeing of the community.

Over 30 people attended the charity wine tasting organised by the Família Torres Foundation last Thursday, 20 November, in support of the CATELA Foundation (Association for People Affected by ALS in the Penedès-Garraf region). This organisation aims to raise awareness of the degenerative disease ALS and to raise funds for research.

I had the pleasure of explaining the Torres and Earth programme we run at the Torres Family and leading the tasting of five organic wines from the Torres Family and Jean Leon, served in Riedel glasses kindly provided for the event and accompanied by a selection of Mallart cured meats.

During the event, the president of the Catela Foundation, Eduard Garzón, explained the consequences of suffering from this disease and the great difficulties faced by those affected, as there is virtually no government support available to them.

On our part, we also said a few words in memory of Pere Joan Santacana, who passed away from ALS shortly after retiring.

The attendees showed great interest in the explanations and spoke very highly of the excellent quality of the wines. It was a heart-warming event at which €1,600 was raised for a very good cause.
