New Educational Initiative for Hospitality Schools
Last Saturday, we had the pleasure of welcoming a group of students from Outlook Wine School to Jean Leon. The students, future sommeliers and hospitality professionals, not only toured the winery and tasted the full current range of wines, but also gained first-hand insight into our R&D projects and the initiatives we are developing to address climate change, the adoption of regenerative agriculture, the revival of ancestral grape varieties such as forcada and moneu, and our efforts to reduce our carbon footprint, among other key topics.
This visit is part of a new initiative launched by the Familia Torres Foundation, aimed at supporting various hospitality schools across Spain through visits to Jean Leon and Familia Torres. The program includes talks on sustainability and other subjects of interest for students, and in some cases, offers training scholarships. The goal is to raise awareness of our brands, our Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and to share our vision of sustainability and wine expertise with future industry professionals.
This year, we have also hosted a visit from the Escola d’Enoturisme de Catalunya.
Outlook Wine, a training and consulting center specializing in the wine sector, was founded in 2009 by David Molina (Founder, Director, and Head Wine Educator). They offer both in-person and online courses for consumers, wine enthusiasts, and professionals who are either starting out or looking to update their skills and broaden their perspective in the industry. Outlook Wine has been recognized as one of the eleven best wine schools in the world.
