The new limited edition of Celeste Crianza dedicated to this city was recently presented in Valencia at the restaurant La colonia de Carmela. The design, painted directly on the glass, shows the most emblematic buildings of the Levantine capital and the stars that can be observed in the Valencian sky in October, coinciding with the grape harvest.

This new edition of the Celeste City Skyline series also has a solidarity component, as for the sale of each bottle, the Torres Family Foundation will allocate a portion to the "La Mare Que Va" project of the Asindown Foundation, a hospitality and tourism training centre for people with Down syndrome and intellectual disabilities, located in the Marina de València, to promote their social and labour inclusion.

At the end of 2024, the Torres Family Foundation had already supported hospitality workers in the Valencian Community affected by the DANA storm, through an economic donation to the Valencia Hospitality Business Federation (FEHV). It also collaborated with the Valencia Sommeliers and Wine Lovers Association (ASEV) in a charity tasting and dinner in favour of the Mira'm Foundation, an association for autistic children in the Valencian Community, whose proceeds –which the entity matched– were especially dedicated to supporting those affected by the DANA.  

Representatives of the Penedès family winery met on Tuesday, December 17, in Valencia, with the general secretary of the Valencia Hospitality Business Federation (FEHV), Rafael Ferrando, and the financial director Carmen Lozano, to formalise the donation with the aim of helping to rebuild the affected premises and reactivate the sector in general.

The FEHV, which has more than 1,500 members in the province of Valencia, is channelling the aid received in the wake of the DANA storm to allocate it exclusively to hospitality workers in the affected areas, regardless of whether they are members or not.

The Torres Family Foundation has also collaborated with the Valencia Sommeliers and Wine Lovers Association (ASEV) in a charity tasting and dinner held in early December in favour of the Mira'm Foundation, an association for autistic children in the Valencian Community, matching the amount raised during the dinner.

At a blind wine tasting, participants will explore their senses of taste and smell, embarking on a fascinating sensory journey that will encourage them to reflect on their own preconceptions and discover the incredible potential of those around them.

In 2004, the Torres Family Foundation, receives a proposal to build a sheltered home in San Feliu de Codines. The project is carried out through a financial contribution to the Aldeas Infantiles-SOS organization and becomes a reality in the construction of homes for 50 children from broken families, abuse victims or orphans.

The project is conceived as an intervention plan for comprehensive, biopsychosocio-educational care, aimed at victims of gender violence, mothers and dependent children, who need spaces for personal recovery to restart a life project free of violence. The intervention with this group prioritizes repairing the emotional damage that affects self-esteem and self-confidence; validating the maternal role is essential in the project and favoring empowerment, supposes achieving one of the goals set among the objectives. The interdisciplinary technical team carries out an intervention with the family units with a holistic approach, based on individualized and comprehensive care, through actions such as: repairing the damage, acquiring tools for the development of social/personal skills, support in management of documentary and juridical-legal procedures, strengthening of the mother-child relationship, support and advice for training and employment, accompaniment in the search for residential alternatives. The set of all the actions and activities that fall within these intervention axes, allow the achievement of the final objective, this being, the achievement of the biopsychosocial recovery of the family unit to break the cycle of violence and social exclusion.   PUBLICACIONES: https://www.madridiario.es/ser-madre-y-presa-testimonios-de-una-carcel  

MENAS Socio-educational intervention project with children and young people, without family role models.

The contribution has allowed more resources to be allocated to the qualitative work of the project, increasing the number of professionals to guarantee focus on the youngsters in the two centres: Avinyonet and Vilanova.

 

 

The Foundation works to achieve the social and work force integration of people in situations of social exclusion, mainly women coming from penitentiary centres and social services.

This project involves welcoming ten women who access our facilities of the "La Llavor" project every day for professional training and to learn a trade. The students attend from the women's section of the Wad Ras and Brians I prisons on a second or third level of probation.

From the “Salud Sin Techo” platform and with the collaboration of Familia Torres Foundation, they develop a first-line basic health care program for homeless people in Barcelona that includes different medical specialties as well as podiatry, dentistry, and optometry. This activity is carried out in the Parish of Santa Ana in Barcelona and with a mobile unit, they travel to different neighborhoods of the city, points where "hunger queues" are formed. With this financing they have incorporated blood pressure measurement for all users as well as education on general health aspects, as well as talks to women so that they better understand basic aspects of health and care for their children.

This project was born to improve the academic and relational situation of minors who live in 24 Residential Centers for Educational Action (CRAEs) in Catalonia in order to guarantee an adequate school level for their development and future social integration, acquiring the necessary knowledge, habits of study and social skills. Thus, their school performance will increase, as well as their self-esteem, transmission of values ​​and avoid their relational isolation, thanks to the personalized intervention of a team of 173 volunteers, who will focus their task according to the capacities, characteristics and needs of each minor. This project complements the work carried out in the centers with which it collaborates. The Foundation works to offer minors a better future, accompanying and supporting them in their training and seeking the necessary resources for their social integration. The elements that define the intervention focus on:

    • Extracurricular activities during the week with workshops and group games, and leisure activities during the weekends, with sports, cultural and leisure outings.

Thanks to the collaboration with the Torres Family Foundation, it has been possible to improve the academic grades of 80% of the minors and adolescents who have participated in the school reinforcement activities. 80% of the children and adolescents cared for have seen their social skills increased. In addition, the aggressive and anxious behaviors that had been observed have improved in 85% of the children and adolescents seen.

The children of the CRAE Toni Inglés, located in the neighborhood of San Julián de Vilafranca, take over a vegetable garden in a pilot project of agriculture and teamwork. The garden will serve to promote knowledge of nature and the life cycle and the acquisition of agricultural techniques. The CRAE Toni Inglés, managed by the social initiative cooperative based in the Penedès Actúa, has just started a new organic gardening project. With this initiative, the children of the center will learn to grow and sow their first seeds and take care of the plants responding to their needs, to help them grow and finally be able to harvest and feed on them. The project has been possible thanks to funding from the Torres Family Foundation and the collaboration of Ecoxarxa and the Vilafranca City Council; and it will allow children to discover the world of agriculture and the magic of the development of life. This ecological garden will also be the starting point for various activities with educational benefits, but also with social benefits such as contact with nature, the acquisition of healthy habits, the creation of links with the environment and learning the value of resources such as Water. Thus, the Ecological Garden wants to be a transversal learning tool, in still necessary values ​​in the little ones and generate opportunities for a more dignified future. Projects like this show that the joint work of various agents such as the administration, social entities and companies enables the creation of positive initiatives for all. The Familia Torres Foundation annually allocates more than 100,000 euros to social projects, with the aim of supporting non-profit organizations that work to address the shortcomings of our society, with an emphasis on helping children and women, as well as well as the group of young immigrants.

Adequacy of the home-residence space to improve the quality of life of residents. The residence of Mas Albornà located in Les Cabanyes is a 17th century farmhouse converted into a residential space for people with intellectual disabilities. The project consists mainly in making improvements to the common areas of the ground floor (the most accessible) to use them as a comfort zone, leisure, rest,… for people with greater difficulty of movement and other residents. Due to the health crisis experienced in 2020, they faced other expenses such as laptops, access control and pushbuttons, an emergency light generator,....

The children of the future is a collaborative project that creates a natural meeting space for people with disabilities and children from the social environment of the municipality and region. The project aims to break down conceptual, educational and social barriers through educational and inclusive leisure spaces within the city itself, in school spaces in order to create in the people of the future a normalization of functional diversity based on their own experience, where functional diversity becomes a value of enrichment and positivity in the community and in the day-to-day coexistence of the city and the society of the future.

The Bobath Store is a project of the Bobath Foundation in Madrid, will begin in 2014 with the objective of developing to the maximum the sensorimotor, cognitive, and social skills of the users of the daily residence, from the focus of occupational therapy. The Bobath Foundation is a pioneer assistant entity in Spain in the comprehensive treatment of child and adults affected by paralysis or brain damage. During the year 2020, the Familia Torres Foundation has financed the project, with more than 40 young people with cerebral palsy participating in the making of solidarity details for weddings, baptisms, companies …  

Punt de Referencia offers a temporary reception in a family unit, which lasts for nine months. Young people are offered to live in a family environment with people who are culturally rooted in Catalonia. This reception time facilitates the learning of emancipation in everyday life, shows a model of coexistence in a home, the improvement of language skills and the creation of a stable bond between the young person and their welcoming and welcoming so that they can act of adult referents beyond the reception period.

The contribution has made it possible to finance the cost of two young people and their host families, as well as the services of an educator.

Each family receives a financial contribution in concept of maintenance and household expenses and the young person receives aid for travel and other needs.

Archaeological conferences: A journey in time that has allowed us to learn about the birthplace of viticulture in the Penedès region, with around 60 collaborators and their families.

At the Torres Family Foundation we support the Arqueovitis team in their work and, in particular, in the project to recover the grape seeds that show the first signs of grape pressing in our region.

Act Vilafranca carries out a MENAS socio-educational intervention project with children and young people without family role models The contribution has allowed to allocate more resources to the qualitative work of the project, increasing the number of professionals to guarantee the care of minors in their two centers: Avinyonet and Vilanova.   This year 2019, as a novelty, we have started a collaboration aimed at the educators of the center through the financing of mindfulness classes.  

Project aimed at 18 mothers in a situation of social vulnerability and financial instability. They come from social services.

They are offered support and guidance, help through Rebost Solidari and care of their children.

The aim is to climb the social ladder through education, for young people from families at risk of social exclusion, who belong to highly complex schools in Barcelona.

The Torres Family Foundation contribution: two university scholarships.

In 2012, the Foundation made a financial contribution to a building project for a house within the educational centre for children with physical and psychiatric problems operated by the No.1 Village Foundation. This consists of a project to assist and reintegrate these children into society.

La Marató TV3 Foundation was created in 1996 by the Catalan Audio-visual Media Corporation with the mission of encouraging and promoting excellent biomedical research, as well as social awareness about the diseases that are dealt with in the television programme.

La Marató de TV3, through citizen participation campaigns and events for dissemination and education.

Through the Torres Family Foundation, we participate annually by holding a solidarity day of experiences paired with the world of wine.

The collection of the day is entirely destined to La Marató de TV3 and from the Fundación Familia Torres we collaborate by doubling the amount of said collection.
