{"id":3031,"date":"2019-12-02T15:08:21","date_gmt":"2019-12-02T15:08:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fundacionfamiliatorres.org\/?p=3031"},"modified":"2019-12-02T15:08:22","modified_gmt":"2019-12-02T15:08:22","slug":"collaboration-with-banc-dels-aliments","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fundacionfamiliatorres.org\/en\/collaboration-with-banc-dels-aliments\/","title":{"rendered":"Collaboration with Banc dels Aliments"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Familia\nTorres Foundation donates 4,000 euros to be used to buy basic food.\nThe <em>Banc\ndels Aliments<\/em>\nof Barcelona is a\nFoundation whose main objectives are to avoid waste by recovering\nsurpluses of food suitable for human consumption and fighting against\npoverty, by delivering them to people in situations of food\nprecariousness in our environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On\nthis occasion, the campaign chosen was \u201cMore baby food\u201d, an\ninitiative aimed at buying baby food to meet the nutritional needs of\n16,817 children, aged 3 to 15 years, and 2,984 newborns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During\nthis year 2019 we have also collaborated in\nthe \u201cNo child without moustache\u201d\nmilk collection campaign organized by the banking entity La Caixa for\nthe benefit of <em>Banc\ndels Aliments.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The\nceremony, held on Monday, November 11th at the headquarters of the\n<em>Banc\ndels Aliments<\/em>\nFoundation, was attended by Marta Torres Rossell\u00f3, vice president of\nthe Torres Family Foundation and Roser Brutau i Bast\u00e9, president of\nthe <em>Banc\ndels Aliments<\/em>\nFoundation of Barcelona.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The\n<em>Banc\ndels Aliments<\/em>\ndoes not distribute food directly to users, but provides food to the\nnetwork of social initiative entities that distributes them to people\nin vulnerable situations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Familia\nTorres Foundation also collaborates annually with the <em>Ress\u00f2\n&#8211; Rebost Solidari Association<\/em>\nof Vilafranca del Pened\u00e8s, beneficiary of <em>Banc\ndels Aliments<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With\nthis type of actions, in addition to collaborating with the most\nneedy society, we are contributing to the reduction of CO2 emissions\nsince, in the production of food, in its transformation, in its\ntransport and commercialization, resources and energy are used, which\nIt represents an environmental impact that is measured in tons of CO2\nequivalent. If food is wasted, it is wasted energy.
